What are some fun, cheap or free things to do in raleigh nc?

I have lived in Raleigh for a looong time and am sick of going to the mall, movies and coffee shops. I am hoping to find some ideas of free entertainment that is actually interesting

Walk around one of the lakes – Shelly Lake or Lake Lynn.

Walk around Durant Nature Trail.

Pick up a Leisure Ledger and take a class at Sertoma Arts Center (or one of the many other park facilities in the city).

Try geocaching.
