Shopping Mall Near Baltimore Md

Best place to live in Virgina?
Me and my family are planning on relocating from Baltimore,MD to Virgina. I want something that has the best of everything. We LOVE the mountains and fishing too. So something on or near the mountains with lakes or rivers is great. But, we also want something with great town life….for shopping, eating out and entertainment. Something that isn’t to far away from maybe a movie theater, malls,…etc (We have kids). Please help!!!!
I moved from Florida to Virginia a little over 3 yrs ago and I LOVE it here. (Now you asked for an opinion so here is mine)…… I call York County home and while I have a bit of land, I am still near enough to ‘city’ that I don’t lack for things to do for either myself or my daughter whom I homeschool.
We have : 1) Virginia Living Museum ( you can find it on the web, it is a huge science center with an outdoor ‘wildlife’ area and the indoors is 2 levels); 2)Colonial Williamsburg ( great for just a lazy family outing **sneak a little history lesson in on the kids), plenty of stuff always going on and at certain times of the year they have an outdoor farmer’s market; 3) Jamestowne Settlement & Historic Jamestowne ( again slip a little history in on them or just wander and see how our State got it’s start), the Historic Jamestowne is part of the National Colonial Park (State Parks) and has archeaological digs going on and is located on James Island (the original settlement site) which you can tour by car. 4) Yorktown Victory Center while a little on the small side is perfect for those days when you don’t want to do a whole heck of a lot of walking as it has an indoor area and then a small working 16th Cent Farm area and is near the water. 5) Yorktown Beach & a few other beaches or you can drive over to Virginia Beach and enjoy the larger beach 6)Parks galore 7) Zoo, Aquarium & Botanical Garden while located in Virginia Beach are worth the drive {usually no more than a hr depending where you choose to locate to.
Couple of hrs drive is the Mnts……
And the list goes on. The schools and colleges here are good and while they tax you six ways to Sunday, I would still choose Va over a number of other states (not bad mouthing any state , it’s just my choice of where to live).
There is plenty to do and where you choose to live in the state will be the factor on just how far from or near to home you have to go to enjoy certain things. You can pull up the state and there should be a website that will send you relocation material to help you figure it all out.
I wish you luck and a safe move.
