Why do people say The Mall of America in Minnesota is the largest mall in the United States? The King of Prussia mall in Pennsylvania is 2,793,200 square feet to Mall of America’s 2,510,100. The Mall of America does have more stores, but The King of Prussia Mall is Technically bigger then it, and is the worlds 13th largest shopping mall ever.

The King of Prussia mall is actually two separate structures under a common name, which is why few people consider it to be one mall. But it is listed in wikipedia as one mall, and at 2.79 million square feet it is just slightly larger than the Mall of America (2.77 million)
