why is it illegal to publish books advocating terrorism?

or any other politically controversial issue..
like they say, guns don’t kill people, people kill people. so why should mere information- which, without a person to act on it, is absolutely harmless- be censored? how can we legitimately call reading/publishing such information illegal, when in fact no crime has been committed? if you go on the assumption that it may, then you might as well apply the same principle to other things- for example, the police could legitimately take away your gun on the assumption that you may go insane in a crowded shopping mall with it. do you understand what I’m saying?

I see your point. I am French-American. I love the US and I’ll do my best to insure it remains a leader in the world.

But yea, in France, no book or source of information is illegal. Even if it could be a tool to be used by terrorists, education is worth it.
