My car tax ran out three months ago! Help!?
I moved from the UK to Germany last week and just realised that for the last three months (since I bought the car), I had forgot to tax it! The car is off road in the UK until I bring it over here at Christmas so need to tax it now so my mother can use it. I tried to buy online and it said I could however may be contacted by some people as there was a three month gap. Obviously it’s my own problem for being stupid enough to forget however what do you think will happen?!?!
Not a lot really …. if it’s been off road – and perhaps you had a SORN on it (?) then there isn’t any problem…. if however you’ve been using the car then I suggest you get your road tax asap…. they will backdate it to when the last road tax ran out …. be prepared to (maybe) get a fine in the post for not having tax…..you will need to go in person to get the tax renewed…….just fill out the normal forms and take them in with you….
